Jeff Jarrett 2023: Net Worth, Family, Income

Jeff Jarrett was born on July 14th, 1967 in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He is a professional wrestler currently signed to AEW.

Jarrett comes from a wrestling family and is a third-generation performer. His Grandmother Christine Jarrett was a promoter for NWA Mid-America and his father, Jerry Jarrett, was a prominent figure in the wrestling industry.

Jeff began his wrestling career in 1986 working for his father’s promotion, Continental Wrestling Association. which later merged with World Class Championship Wrestling to form the United States Wrestling Association. During his run, he won the USWA Southern Heavyweight Championship on 10 occasions and the USWA World Tag Team Championship on 15 occasions.

In 1993, Jarrett joined the WWF as the obnoxious country singer Double J, Jeff Jarrett which saw him introduce his signature acoustic guitar to his routine as well as his entrance theme, “With My Baby Tonight.” He was also accompanied by a Roadie, who would later become the Road Dogg. In 1995 he began feuding with Razor Ramon, which saw him win the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his career. Later that year he left the company due to a contract dispute.

In 1996 he signed a one-year deal with WCW where he briefly joined the Four Horseman and won the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship before returning to WWF as NWA North American Heavyweight Champion as part of Jim Cornette‘s ill-fated National Wrestling Alliance invasion angle. He reprised his country music singer gimmick but was this time managed by Tennesse Lee and two bodyguards called Southern Justice. The to would feud with DX, which resulted in Jarrett losing a Hair vs Hair match to X-Pac at SummerSlam 1998.

The new-look Jarrett then joined by Debra McMichaels began teaming with Owen Hart and quickly won the Tag Team Championship. Jarrett went on to win the IC Title another 5 times, which led to his memorable feud with Chyna over the title. In his last match for the company, Jarrett lost the title to Chyna in a Good Housekeeping match at No Mercy 1999.

Jarrett jumped to WCW and was immediately positioned as one of its top stars. He quickly won the United States Heavyweight Championship and then joined the short-lived nWo 2000 alongside Bret Hart, Kevin Nash, and Scott Steiner.

In 2000 Jarrett captured the WCW World Heavyweight Championship for the first time. He went on to hold the title another three times in quick succession during Vince Russo‘s ill-fated reboot of the promotion. His final match as champion is marred by controversy. At the Bash at the Beach PPV in an angle that is still unknown if it was real or not, Jarrett lay down in the middle of the ring to allow a clearly angered Hulk Hogan to defeat him for the World Championship, only for the match to be ruled null and void by Vince Russo and Jarrett defeated by Booker T later that night with Hulkster leaving the company shortly thereafter.

Following the closure of WCW Jarrett wrestled for World Wrestling All-Stars before co-founding Total Nonstop Action Wrestling alongside his father, in 2022. Jarrett was one of the new promotion’s top stars and had feuds with the likes of Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy, Samoa Joe, and AJ Styles. During his time with TNA, he became a six-time NWA/TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

Following his departure from TNA in 2014 he launched another new promotion called Global Force Wrestling and performed for AAA and NJPW, where he briefly joined the Bullet Club.

In 2018 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and rejoined the company as a backstage producer the following year. He departed WWE in 2022 before joining AEW that same year. Since becoming All Elite, Jarrett has appeared regularly on Dynamite alongside his wife Karen Jarrett.
