WWE Talent Happy For Adam Copeland Following AEW Debut

Those in WWE are very happy about the choice that Adam Copeland [FKA Edge] has made regarding the next stage of his wrestling career.

The wrestling world was shocked at the end of WrestleDream as Edge made his debut for AEW in the final segment, stopping best friend Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne from continuing their assault on Darby Allin and Sting. Having been a part of the WWE system for so long, the Hall of Famer grew close to many within the company.

As reported by Fightful Select, the overwhelming consensus regarding the move is that those in his old promotion are “happy for him.” It is also mentioned that The Rated R Superstar left the company on good terms and that the door is always open for a return if he wants to.

At the post-Fastlane press conference, Triple H revealed he was one of the people happy for Adam Copeland, and even sent him a message following his AEW debut.

Much like Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania debut saw The American Nightmare use the same entrance music he did in AEW, fans watching WrestleDream saw the Hall of Famer burst onto the stage as “Metalingus” by Alter Bridge blasted through the arena. Fightful Select notes that as this is licenced music, there were never any exclusive rights for the song, meaning that Copeland could take it with him to AEW.

Why Did Adam Copeland Leave WWE?

The departure was not a shock to some of those at the rival promotion, as they knew that Edge would not be re-signing at the start of the summer. In an address to the world on his social media, Adam Copeland stated that he and WWE had outgrown each other. There was no ill will towards his long-time employer in the message, just that he wanted to do more and the company did not have a lot more for him to do.

Unfortunately, some people online will not be happy about the move as they are devoted to one brand only. In an address on social media, Adam Copeland has blasted the tribalist fans in wrestling.
