The Young Bucks Earn AEW World Tag Team Title Shot

Matt Jackson Nick Jackson The Young Bucks

The Young Bucks have the chance to become AEW World Tag Team Champions for the third time.

After missing out on the World Tag Team Titles at All In when they were defeated by FTR, Matt and Nick Jackson have become number one contenders once again.

The duo earned their shot after getting the better of the Lucha Bros, The Gunns, and Orange Cassidy and Hook at WrestleDream.

After a fast-paced start, International Champion Rey Fenix tagged out of the match and was taken backstage. Commentary had already played up how banged up the star was referencing a shoulder injury. It’s currently unclear as to whether the injury suffered in the match was genuine. In an update following the match, Rey Fenix has updated fans regarding the injury.

This also took his partner Penta out of the mix for much of the match, but he almost scored a remarkable win late on.

Each team came close to victory, but the Bucks got the job done by taking out Penta with the BTE Trigger.

There is no word on when the Young Bucks will cash in their title match. FTR are scheduled to defend the titles at WrestleDream against Aussie Open.

Recently it was confirmed that Cash Wheeler is injured.

The Young Bucks Already Hold ROH Gold

The Young Bucks already have tag team gold in their possession, having won the ROH Six-Man Titles alongside Hangman Adam Page at Rampage Grand Slam. Adam Page admitted that after his loss to Swerve Strickland, he needs to go back to the drawing board.

The trio has yet to defend the titles.
