Cash Wheeler Injured

AEW’s Cash Wheeler of the tag team FTR has been sidelined with an injury.

During Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, Cash Wheeler and his partner Dax Harwood faced off against Ricky Starks and Big Bill in a match for the AEW Tag Team Championships. However, the match was cut short, lasting less than five minutes.

Early into the bout, Wheeler suffered a devastating blow when Big Bill chokeslammed him through the announce table, effectively taking him out of the match. Bill continued his assault on Harwood, delivering multiple chokeslams before Starks sealed the victory with a spear and pinfall.

The injury status of Cash Wheeler was discussed by Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio. “Cash is injured,” confirmed Alvarez. Meltzer added, “That’s what it sure appeared to be.” Alvarez further elaborated:

Well, he is injured, that’s the story. The story they told on television was it was at the pay-per-view when Aussie Open ran them together, they sold it like he’d injured his rib there.

During the opening moments of Collision, FTR cut a promo expressing their physical state, emphasising that they were beaten up and hurt heading into the match. Wheeler also sold his rib injury early on. However, the extent of FTR’s time away from the ring remains uncertain. Alvarez expressed:

I don’t know how long FTR is going to be out of action,

In addition to Wheeler’s injury, there are reports that Luchasaurus may have suffered a broken finger during Saturday’s show. The full extent of his injury is yet to be confirmed.

What Was Cash Wheeler Going To Do In AEW Before His Injury?

Cash Wheeler was expected to defend the AEW World Tag Team Championship along with his tag partner Dax Harwood in a highly anticipated fourth bout between FTR and The Young Bucks, as the Bucks had won a four-way match at WrestleDream to secure a title match opportunity.

It has since been reported that Cash Wheeler isn’t injured.
