“Back To The Drawing Board” – Adam Page Addresses His Loss To Swerve Strickland

Adam Page wrestles Swerve Strickland at AEW WrestleDream.

Adam Page looks to regroup following his loss to Swerve Strickland at WrestleDream.

In what was a rare occurrence for Page, the former AEW Champion was met with a negative reaction from the Seattle crowd, who were firmly behind hometown hero Strickland. Following a great battle between the rivals, Strickland won after striking Page with Prince Nana’s crown.

Speaking in the backstage area following the loss, Page stated that although he lost the match, he gave some advice to Strickland for his future matches:

“What the hell do you want? It’s Seattle, it’s Swerve’s house, yeah I f*cking get it. He nearly broke my arm and he had to hit me in the head with something, I don’t know what the f*ck it was. But he thinks that’s what gets you the spot, right? He thinks that’s how you do it. He doesn’t think that you earn it, you just take it. I don’t know, maybe tonight he’s onto something. But to me, it looks like a little rehab, a lot of ice packs, I’m going to try and not drink tonight, and back to the drawing board.

Page continued by addressing the crowd reaction that he got, saying that he expected it and that the pay-per-view was very much a one-off:

Seattle, you didn’t like me, that’s fine, I get it, Swerve’s your boy, I don’t blame you. But Swerve, if you think that Nana at ringside to help you and you think that cheating and hitting guys in the head with something in the middle of the match? You think those are the things that put you in my position? You’re wrong. I’m sure you felt like a superstar tonight, and you should. But in the long run, it’s not going to do it.

Adam Page Looks To Future Championship Defences

Adam Page teamed with The Young Bucks at Grand Slam to become the new ROH Trios Champions. With the trio defeating The Mogul Embassy to capture the titles, it is likely that the former champions will be looking for a rematch in the near future.

Matt and Nick Jackson had a more successful night at WrestleDream, as The Young Bucks became the new number one contenders for the AEW Tag Team Championships.
