Former World Champion Paul Wight is reportedly set to lace up his boots for the first time in over a year at AEW Full Gear.

Since signing with All Elite Wrestling, the former Big Show has served mostly in a broadcast role. He’s had a handful of matches on the now-defunct Dark Elevation, and at the 2021 edition of AEW All Out, he defeated QT Marshall in singles action.

His most recent bout came on the April 4th edition of Dark Elevation, where he handily defeated Austin Green.

Now, according to a new report from Fightful Select, Wight is on his way back to action.

Who Will Paul Wight Face At AEW Full Gear?

On the October 25th episode of Dynamite, a backstage segment showed Chris Jericho speaking about his recent shock loss to Powerhouse Hobbs. Not only did Hobbs pick up the victory over Le Champion, he did it in quick fashion, establishing his dominance as a force to be reckoned with on the roster.

Jericho said that while Hobbs is big, he knows of someone even bigger. According to Fightful Select, the current working plan is for former WWE Champion Paul Wight to work some sort of match at Full Gear, and it stands to reason that Hobbs could also be involved.

The report also notes that there were plans for Wight to have a match at All In that also involved Satnam Singh, but those plans didn’t come to fruition.

AEW Full Gear is set to emanate from the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on November 18th.

Wight recently made a rare non-AEW appearance when he was part of an OVW taping.
