Ric Flair Angry At Paul Heyman’s Comments: “Don’t Say Something Stupid”

Ric Flair Paul Heyman

Ric Flair thinks Paul Heyman went too far when trying to get heat.

Speaking with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s Fast Take ahead of SummerSlam in August, Paul Heyman declared himself to be the greatest manager of all time. When asked about late WWE Hall of Famer Bobby Heenan, Heyman had this to say:

“I’m the GOAT. Screw [Bobby Heenan], he’s dead. Jimmy Hart is still alive, which proves God doesn’t answer my prayers.”

During a recent appearance on Wrestling Observer Radio, Ric Flair took Heyman to task for those comments, saying:

“I know Dangerously [Heyman] was being funny on TV, but he was on First Take and Stephen A goes, ‘what did you think of Bobby Heenan?’ [Heyman] goes, ‘Ah, he’s dead. Who cares.’ Everybody goes, ‘That’s to get heat.’ It got heat with me. The answer is, ‘Yeah, he’s the greatest of all time.’ It didn’t get over with me at all. He’s just being a heel. Be a heel on me. Don’t say something stupid about somebody who is the greatest of all time.”

How Long Is Ric Flair Signed With AEW?

The October 25th episode of AEW Dynamite saw Ric Flair make a surprise appearance as a special gift to Sting from Tony Khan. On November 2nd, it was announced that Flair had signed a multi-year deal with the company and also that his Wooooo! Energy drink would be the exclusive energy drink of AEW.

He later revealed that he’s signed a two year deal with the company. While he says he doesn’t believe he’ll wrestle again, Flair insists that he is cleared to compete should the opportunity arise.
