Ric Flair's AEW Contract Details Revealed

WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has confirmed that he will be joining AEW for the next two years.

Ric Flair made the announcement during a special edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, alongside his business partner Chad Bronstein. According to Flair, his deal with AEW extends beyond the Sting retirement storyline, and he expects to be a prominent television character throughout the duration of his contract.

When asked if he would be part of AEW’s TV programming for the next two years, Flair responded with his trademark enthusiasm, saying:

Yes. 76 and still talking. Wooooo!

Flair’s AEW signing was officially announced by the company in a press release, following his on-screen debut on last week’s episode of Dynamite. The announcement also revealed that Flair’s Wooooo! energy drink has been named the official energy drink of AEW.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with PWInsider, Ric Flair would comment on a potential in-ring return in AEW, stating that although he doesn’t think it is likely to happen, it is something he is very much open to.

“No, I don’t think I will.

If you’re asking me if I want to? I have to be careful what I say because it never comes out (the right way).

I just made it very clear to everybody that I can take bumps. I have a doctor’s release to do anything I want like that.

Do I think I’ll wrestle again? No.

Would I like to? Obviously. [h/t Fightful]

When Did Ric Flair Debut In AEW?

Ric Flair made his AEW debut on the October 25th episode of Dynamite to take part in a celebration of Sting’s career following his announcement the week prior that Sting would be retiring at AEW Revolution in 2024.

During the celebrations, Christian Cage came to the ring and verbally assaulted Flair which led to an announcement that Sting, Darby Allin, and a mystery opponent would face Cage, Luchasaurus, and Nick Wayne at Full Gear. It was later revealed that the mystery partner would be none other than Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge.
