Former World Champion Moved To WWE SmackDown

WWE SmackDown Crowd

One of Monday Night Raw’s biggest stars will now be appearing exclusively on WWE SmackDown.

The October 13th, season premiere episode of SmackDown was a huge night for WWE. Adam Pearce was announced as General Manager for Raw, Nick Aldis made his WWE debut as the GM of SmackDown, Jade Cargill and Charlotte Flair came face to face, and the blue brand added a major star to its roster.

Triple H’s appearance on the show was to announce the return of one-brand General Managers, which led to the debut of Aldis. During the segment, Dominik Mysterio came to the ring to complain about Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso putting their Undisputed Tag Team titles on the line just days before their match The Judgment Day on October 16th.

At this, Nick Aldis announced the arrival of the newest member of the SmackDown roster Kevin Owens who immediately came to the ring and hit Mysterio with a Stunner.

Why Did Kevin Owens Move To WWE SmackDown?

The foundations for Kevin Owens’ move to SmackDown were laid at Payback with the WWE return of Jey Uso. In August the star had ‘quit’ WWE and SmackDown in a bid to finally break free from The Bloodline.

At Payback, Cody Rhodes announced that he’d used his “political stroke” to bring Uso not only back to WWE but to Raw. It was later confirmed that Jey Uso’s move to Raw would actually set up a trade, meaning someone from the red brand would be going to SmackDown.
