Becky Lynch Becomes WWE Grand Slam Champion

Becky Lynch cuts a promo

Becky Lynch can now call herself “Becky Grand Slam” after her most recent championship victory.

On last night’s edition of WWE NXT, Becky Lynch defeated Tiffany Stratton in a 13-minute bout to lift the NXT Women’s Championship.

Despite being an active member of NXT’s roster from 2013 to 2015, Becky Lynch never lifted the brand’s Women’s Championship.

She did compete for it on multiple occasions, facing off against the likes of Sasha Banks, Asuka and Charlotte during their runs as champion, but she could never quite get the victory.

But now, having finally added the NXT Women’s Championship to her collection, Becky Lynch has become WWE’s 6th female Grand Slam Champion.

“Grand Slam Champion” is a title bestowed upon individuals who have successfully captured every championship available to them. For women in WWE, this includes;

  • The WWE Raw/Women’s Championship
  • The WWE SmackDown/Women’s World Championship
  • The NXT Women’s Championship
  • The WWE Women’s Tag Championships

Becky Lynch won the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship in September of 2016, the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania 35 in April of 2019, the Women’s Tag Championships in February of 2023 (with Lita), and of course, the NXT Women’s Championship last night.

Lynch joins a veritable “who’s who” of female performers by achieving this success. The other women who have been named “Grand Slam Champion” are all major players in wrestling; Bayley, Asuka, Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley.

In recent news, Becky Lynch is set to appear on the upcoming episode of NXT.

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins: A Family Full Of Champions

In a post-match NXT Exclusive interview, Becky Lynch celebrated her momentous victory and proudly referred to herself and her husband, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, as “a family full of champions.”

“Family full of champions. Me and Seth Rollins. We’re both champions. Look at at us, controlling the business.”

Lynch’s first title defence has not yet been revealed, but one can assume that Tiffany Stratton is not taking the loss of her NXT Women’s Championship lightly.
