Becky Lynch is set to make a highly anticipated return to WWE NXT on September 19th.
The announcement was made by Lynch herself during the September 18th episode of Raw, where she expressed her desire to test her skills against the best talents on the NXT roster. This appearance on NXT marks Lynch’s first since her triumphant victory over Tiffany Stratton, where she clinched the NXT title she had never held during her initial stint with the brand.
During Monday’s episode of Raw, Lynch issued an open challenge for an NXT Women’s title match, which was accepted by Natalya. Natalya, who claimed to have worked harder than anyone else, expressed her readiness for a shot at the championship. However, Lynch proved her mettle by defeating Natalya and successfully retaining her coveted title in her first-ever NXT Women’s Championship defence.
Lynch’s path to the championship began when Tiffany Stratton apologised for labelling her as a former champion in a promo. Stratton’s taunting behaviour, including appearing in the crowd during Lynch’s matches, eventually led to Lynch confronting her and declaring her intention to challenge for the title. On the September 12th episode of NXT, Lynch emerged victorious in an intense battle against Stratton, capturing the NXT Women’s title and cementing her status as a WWE Grand Slam Champion.
