Becky Lynch Salutes “Family Full Of Champions” After NXT Women’s Title Win

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins in WWE

Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins are running WWE.

On September 12th, Becky Lynch pinned Tiffany Stratton to win the NXT Women’s Championship. As well as being the first time that Lynch has held the gold, the win also means that she and her husband Seth Rollins now hold WWE championships with The Visionary in possession of the World Heavyweight Title.

Speaking in an NXT Digital Exclusive after her main event win, Lynch admitted she thought her chance to become champion had gone, before reflecting on her family’s recent success.

“[That has a] great ring to it, doesn’t it? The Grand Slam Man, here we go. Becky Balboa, we did it. Oh my goodness. This is wild. I have become the NXT Women’s Champion on my goal list for the last ten, maybe eleven years. It’s one of those things that you think, ‘Okay, well, I’m not in NXT, maybe it’s never gonna happen.’

Then Tiffany just had to go running her mouth too much, and here we are. I can’t say nothing’s possible. Family full of champions. Me and Seth Rollins. We’re both champions. Look at at us, controlling the business,”

Becky Lynch Becomes Grand Slam Champion

With the victory, Lynch became the sixth female Grand Slam Champion in WWE history. The Irish star has now won the SmackDown, Raw, and NXT Women’s Titles, adding her name to a list that includes Charlotte Flair, Asuka, Mercedes Mone, Bayley, and Rhea Ripley.

However, Ripley holds her own unique part of WWE history having also held the NXT UK Women’s Title. This record is unlikely to ever be equaled after the closure of NXT UK and the merging of the title with the NXT Women’s Title.
