“Personally, I Think [Thunder Rosa] Should Just Come To Work” – Toni Storm

Thunder Rosa & Toni Storm

At AEW All Out Thunder Rosa was due to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm. However, shortly before the show Rosa announced that she would be unable to compete due to a back injury that had been progressively worse for a number of weeks.

With Rosa out of action and still holding the title, Storm overcame Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida to become Interim Champion. As the weeks have passed and there is still no clear timeframe on Thunder Rosa returning to the ring, Storm has grown increasingly frustrated, recently claiming that Rosa being out and still champion was “bothering a lot of people.”

Toni Storm Takes Aim At Thunder Rosa

As Toni Storm prepares for another Interim Women’s World Title defence and Thunder Rosa is nowhere in sight, the Kiwi star has spoken out again. In an interview with The Ringer, Storm said her rival should come to work and defend her title, and if she can’t, she should be stripped of the gold.

“Personally, I think she should just come to work and defend her championship like she’s supposed to, like a champion should. But if the injury lingers too long, I believe she should probably be stripped. And then I should be the AEW undisputed Women’s World Champion like I was supposed to be at All Out. That’s verbatim. I think she should defend her title. I think all champions should defend that championship. That doesn’t just go for Thunder Rosa. That goes for everybody.”

Speaking ahead of AEW Full Gear, AEW President Tony Khan revealed that he had thought about stripping Thunder Rosa of her title, but was giving her every opportunity to come back. For her part, the champion recently said that she will be back soon, although again was unable to give a return date.

At Full Gear Toni Storm will defend her Interim AEW Women’s World Title against British star Jamie Hayter.
