Thunder Rosa Gives Update On Injury Status

Thunder Rosa Double or Nothing entrance

At AEW All Out Thunder Rosa had been scheduled to defend her AEW Women’s World Championship against Toni Storm. However, in the lead up to the show she announced that she would be unable to compete due to injury.

Despite being unable to compete Rosa didn’t relinquish the championship, leading to Toni Storm becoming Interim Women’s Champion at All Out. The star has since revealed that she’s been struggling with a back injury for a number of months which had been getting progressively worse.

“No Timeline” For Thunder Rosa Comeback

In a new video on Instagram, Thunder Rosa has offered a fresh update on her recovery. Speaking in Mexico as she was being honoured with a spot on the Tijuana Walk of Fame the star said that while she is eager to come back, there is still no timeline for a return.

“Shoutout to the whole AEW Women’s Division, you guys are doing great. I’m getting better. Time is coming. I’m coming back soon,” she said. “I know you guys are really eager to when I’m coming back, the news will come later. I’m sorry I don’t have a timeline.”

With Thunder Rosa out of action Toni Storm has stood tall in AEW’s women’s division, defending her Interim Championship against the likes of Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb. During a recent interview Storm claimed that Rosa holding onto the Women’s Championship had “bothered a lot of people,” as she wasn’t on television “putting in the work.”

For her part, Thunder Rosa wasted little time firing back, commenting that she isn’t the one “calling the shots” and if Storm has a problem she should see AEW boss Tony Khan.

It was recently announced that Toni Storm will defend the Interim AEW Women’s Championship against Jamie Hayter at Full Gear.
