WWE Star Enjoyed Their Rivalry With LA Knight: “I Had A Blast”

WWE Star Enjoyed Their Rivalry With LA Knight:

LA Knight continues to get compliments from the WWE locker room, even ones he has feuded with.

Following his loss to Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel, fans remain behind Knight and The Megastar has lost none of his appeal. Still with direction and building towards a rematch with The Tribal Chief, Knight has managed to stay popular when so many of Reigns’ previous opponents have struggled to regain momentum.

The latest star to endorse Knight is one who felt the full effects of the Blunt Force Trauma at Payback, The Miz. The rivalry was based on Miz believing that Knight had stolen the spotlight unfairly and he would be nothing more than a flash in the pan just like everyone else. Knight countered that he is here to stay and Miz should get used to it.

The A Lister looked back on his brief rivalry with Knight while speaking with TNT Sports. Miz revealed how much he loved the back-and-forth in the promo battles as it made him bring his best material:

I had a blast working with LA Knight because he’s the type of character that you can, you can really lock in and like kind of make fun of right, and you know he’s gonna spit fire back to you. And so you know, like, you need to come guns blazing, like you need to come correct. When you step up, and you’re on the microphone with an LA Knight, you need to make sure that you are at the top of your game, that your mind is clear and that you are ready to go. And he brought it I brought it and I thought we created such a great rivalry.

At Payback, Miz lost to Knight as John Cena provided special guest referee duties, going on to endorse Knight after the bell. Miz continued to praise Knight for defying his expectations and continuing the meteoric rise:

And honestly, I think we had two matches. So I think it’s kind of the beginning to me. I feel like there’s there’s more that could happen. But man, what an incredible talent. What a rise. You know, and how about the WWE Universe, not getting tired? And that’s the credit to him for the WWE Universe not getting tired because a lot of times you see a lot of these guys the rockets there and you see them come and they crash and fall. You know a couple of months later.

He’s been doing this now in WWE I’d say for a year this trajectory, this wave has been coming and he’s been able to evolve, been able to stick to his guns and literally go out there and do incredible stuff.

The highlight of the brief rivalry was when Miz decided to have some fun and impersonate LA Knight on an episode of Raw. During the interview, Miz described how easy it was to imitate The Megastar due to his unique character and catchphrases:

Now to imitate him was very, very easy because I mean he’s, he’s a person that you can actually imitate. What is really hard is when you have a person that doesn’t really have a character or catchphrases or anything you can’t imitate them. That’s difficult. It’s very easy to imitate someone that has a character, has catchphrases, has a Yeah!

You know, I mean like it’s like, I had so much fun and it was funny backstage when I was kind of going over my head and kind of getting his voice like I was trying to get into the character. So I had all this stuff on, people were mistaking me as LA Knight. They’re like, what’s LA Knight doing here today? And it’s like, Yep, got it.

During the same interview, The Miz revealed what is left to tick off in regard to his WWE goals.

LA Knight Seeks WWE Vindication

Despite being the top babyface on SmackDown and getting some of the loudest reactions each week, The Megastar is yet to win a championship on the main roster despite being called up over a year ago. Still looking for that first title, LA Knight has stated that he needs to win a WWE Championship to validate himself.

Looking to the future, the WWE star has expressed that he wants to face NXT wrestlers in the future.
