Nick Wayne Turns Heel During AEW WrestleDream

Nick Wayne entrance AEW WrestleDream

Nick Wayne shockingly turned his back on Darby Allin at WrestleDream!

Wayne and Allin have been friends going back years, and in recent months that relationship has moved onto AEW television. The pair have battled side by side to take on Christian Cage and Luchasaurus in increasingly personal battles which have even included Wayne’s mother.

At WrestleDream, Allin challenged Cage in a stunningly violent Two out of Three Falls match which ended in shocking style. During the match Cage taunted Wayne’s mother at ringside while dishing out an unbelievable amount of punishment to Allin. After throwing the face-painted star on the ring steps from the ring apron, Cage dismantled the ring, removing the padding and canvas.

As the brawl continued back in the ring, Wayne arrived at ringside sporting the damage of his own fight with Luchasaurus earlier in the night.

Allin handed the TNT Title to Wayne who was ready to get revenge on Cage, but instead of hitting the veteran, Wayne smashed Allin in the face. This set up Cage to get the win and the beatdown continued with Luchasaurus also involved. This then brought out Sting but he was also quickly taken down.

The chaos paved the way for Edge to make his AEW debut coming to the rescue of Allin and Sting.

When Did Nick Wayne Sign With AEW?

Nick Wayne was offered a contract with AEW in early 2022 after establishing himself as a wrestling prodigy on the independent scene. Wayne made his AEW debut in July 2023 at just 18 years of age, losing against Swerve Strickland on Dynamite.
