Roman Reigns Reaches WWE Milestone Once Again

Roman Reigns WWE milestone

Roman Reigns has set another landmark achievement in WWE.

First capturing the Universal Championship in August 2020, The Tribal Chief has now reached 1,200 days as champion, extending his record with the title and fast closing in on having the 4th longest championship reign in company history, which is Bruno Sammartino’s second reign from 1973 to 1977, spanning 1,237 days. With no title defences reportedly scheduled until the Royal Rumble, this record is all but guaranteed to be broken.

For the Undisputed Champion to take the 3rd spot in the all-time list, he will need to keep ahold of the title for more than 1,474 days, the record currently held by Hulk Hogan for his title reign back that started in 1984. For this to happen, Reigns would have to keep ahold of the title past WrestleMania, as his reign would only be at 1,316 days at that point.

Reigns’ most recent defence of the Undisputed Championship took place at Crown Jewel back in November, where he successfully defended the title against LA Knight.

Roman Reigns Set To Miss Multiple Major Events

A common criticism of Reigns’ record-setting time with the championship is the lack of defences, especially in 2023. This past year, the Head of the Table has defended the championship 5 times on Premium Live Events. These were Kevin Owens at the Royal Rumble, Sami Zayn at Elimination Chamber, Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania, Jey Uso at SummerSlam and LA Knight at Crown Jewel.

Potentially looking to reduce his schedule even further in 2024, Roman Reigns has not been advertised for a major international Premium Live Event in France. Additionally, Roman Reigns is not set to compete at a first-time-ever show in Germany.
