Miro hit the headlines during AEW’s trip to London, but for the opposite reason that was first reported.
Although most fans want to remember All In for the in-ring action, many will associate the Wembley Stadium show with what happened behind the curtain due to CM Punk and Jack Perry’s alleged altercation.
Following the dozens of stories that came to light following the incident, one that piqued the interest of fans was that Punk got involved in a second confrontation with Miro in the trainer’s room after Punk’s victory over Samoa Joe. In a surprising conclusion, it turned out that The Redeemer and The Best in the World never actually came to blows as it was all a prank set up by the men themselves.
Miro’s wife CJ Perry gave her account of the humourous events that took place in an interview with Haus of Wrestling. Perry recalled her shock to reading the story when it broke as she found out about it at the same time as everybody else did:
“Well, first thing is, I didn’t know about this story until it was blowing up online. And that’s when Miro decided to tell me about it, and I was like, ‘What is happening right now?’ And I was like, ‘Why are you picking a fight with him? Why?’
Knowing that she was going to make her own AEW debut imminently, Perry revealed that she got distressed as it could cause issues with her own future creative plans:
“But I was like, ‘What are you doing?’ You know? Like, ‘Why? Why? Why are you doing that?’ And then also, there’s a part of me that knew I was debuting, I’m like, ‘Oh, God. Can we just lay low, please? Can we just like lay low? And you’re gonna be picking at the showrunner? Are you insane?
Perry then revealed that after many hours the former TNT Champion came clean about the joke and at the time she did not see the funny side:
“And I’m like, ‘Were you joking?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’ So then for, like, five hours or until that time, he was selling the whole story to me like it was real. Selling it to me like it was all real. And I’m like, ‘So, wait, you’re telling me it was a joke?’ He tells me the story of how CM Punk is like, ‘Do you have a problem with me?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah,’ and CM Punk goes, ‘You want to fight?’
“Miro goes, ‘Here, or in the ring?’ I’m like, ‘You’re telling me that was a joke?’ He’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I’m like, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me right now.’ He’s like, ‘Oh, I forgot you take everything literal, CJ.’ I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I’m done. I’m literally done.’

One week after the Wembley Stadium Show, AEW returned to pay-per-view to present All Out in Chicago. After The Redeemer defeated Powerhouse Hobbs in a meaty encounter, CJ Perry would make her shock AEW debut to the surprise of her husband Miro.
