Raquel Rodriguez “Had No Bad Experiences” With Ronda Rousey

Raquel Rodriguez Ronda Rousey WWE

Raquel Rodriguez has been very complimentary of Ronda Rousey’s time in WWE.

Rousey appears to have departed the company for a second time following a loss to Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam. The return saw the former Women’s Champion add a Royal Rumble win and multiple title reigns to her professional wrestling tally. Rodriguez challenged Rousey for the title on multiple occasions, but couldn’t figure out a way to defeat The Baddest Woman on the Planet.

Speaking with Eat, Sleep, Podcast, Repeat, Rodriguez credited Rousey for adapting to an industry she was not familiar with and taking it to the next level:

“Ronda carries herself like a superstar. Ronda is great. I’ve had no bad experiences with Ronda. I think she’s also been very willing to put herself into a business that she doesn’t have much knowledge in, but she’s also been willing to help the rest of us along the way too, and elevate a lot of the women in the division. She wants a lot for the women in the division, I’ll say that. She does care about the women’s division for WWE,”

Rodriguez was then asked what it is like to step in the ring with Rousey. The former NXT Women’s Champion described it as a scary encounter but loved the challenge:

“I was very proud of the two matches we had for the women’s titles. It’s really great to work with someone like Ronda because she’s such an amazing athlete. Stepping in the ring with her is very intimidating in itself, but having someone who moves differently and has a different mentality almost makes you want to step up your game and be creative. You have to step out of your box when you’re facing someone like Ronda. It was a lot of fun for me, too,”

Ronda Rousey Potentially Retiring From Fighting

Following the departure at SummerSlam, many speculated that Rousey may return to the UFC to once again become the Women’s Champion. However, those who are hoping to see the former champion step into the octagon again may be disappointed, as it has been reported that Rousey has no interest in fighting at all. The return rumours have also been shut down by UFC President Dana White.
