Ronda Rousey Appears To Confirm Retirement

Ronda Rousey WWE Raw

Ronda Rousey has given the clearest hint yet that her WWE career is over.

The star wrestled her most recent match at SummerSlam where she was defeated by real-life friend Shayna Baszler. In the run-up to the event, it was reported that the match would be Rousey’s last for the time being, and perhaps forever.

It’s been claimed there are no plans on WWE’s end for the star to return, and this has led to speculation that she could make a sensational return to UFC.

However, it seems that Rousey hasn’t got any plans beyond enjoying time with her family and friends. In a post on Instagram, Rousey shared a batch of new photos with the caption: “Sorry, I couldn’t hear you through my retirement.” Bernie Lumen ❤️🔥”

The quote comes from the Disney Pixar movie Elemental.

Ronda Rousey Won’t Be Returning To UFC

As soon as it became clear that Rousey would be taking at least an extended break from WWE, rumours began swirling that she would be heading back to the UFC. After all, it was with UFC that the star made her name as the most famous female combat athlete on the planet after becoming the first woman signed by the organisation in 2012.

This speculation peaked with a report suggesting the former Bantamweight Champion was actually training to return.

However, UFC boss Dana White dismissed the reports about Ronda Rousey’s future as a “crock of sh*t.” In the latest update, Ronda Rousey made a shock return, coming out of retirement for one night only.
