Ronda Rousey Addresses AEW Status Following Surprise ROH Appearance

Ronda Rousey has clarified rumours surrounding a possible signing with AEW.

Following a shock appearance at a Ring of Honor taping in November, fans speculated that this may lead to further appearances for the promotion or even a debut on AEW programming. However, those who are anticipating a Rousey debut on Dynamite will be disappointed by the answer given by the former WWE Superstar.

Speaking with TMZ, Rousey was asked if there would be any AEW appearances in the future. The former Women’s Champion simply responded that it is unlikely:

“No, no, I don’t think so,”

Rousey was asked why that would be, to which the former UFC Champion responded that family life is her current priority:

“Just trying to be home with the family, and be a full-time mom,”

The reporter also asked about a possible return to acting, to which Rousey once again responded that it was “full-time mom stuff.”

At the Full Gear press conference that took place shortly after the surprise ROH appearance, Tony Khan confirmed that Rousey was not signed following the appearance but would love it if the former Women’s Champion returned to the promotion in the future:

“I thought that it would be great to see that tag team against two of the ‘Horsewomen’, that being Marina [Shafir] and Ronda Rousey. And Ronda was happy to come here. She was great, the crowd was really excited to see her and it was a great match. We’d love to have her back sometime.

It was really fun being out here, she’s a local, she lives nearby and that really helped make it possible. So any time it’s convenient, we’d love to have her back because she was tremendous and it was a great match. If people want to see it, check out ROH.”

WWE Superstar Criticises Ronda Rousey’s Recent Matches

While many were happy to see Rousey in a wrestling ring again and excited about a post-WWE run, a former WWE Women’s Champion described Ronda Rousey’s appearance as moving to a “lesser company.”
