Scrapped John Cena Movie Could Still Be Released; Surprising Update From Studio

An upcoming movie starring John Cena may be released after all despite Warner Bros. Studios originally stating that they had shelved the project.

Cena was set to star in Coyote vs. Acme, a live-action and animation hybrid that would give the legendary Wile E. Coyote cartoon its own extended feature. Cena was cast as the CEO of the Acme corporation, the fictional business notorious for making faulty products that frequently played havoc with Coyote’s schemes.

However, on November 9th it was announced by Warner Bros. that the upcoming John Cena movie had been scrapped, as the studio had focused more on theatrical releases:

“With the re-launch of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation in June, the studio has shifted its global strategy to focus on theatrical releases. With this new direction, we have made the difficult decision not to move forward with Coyote vs Acme. We have tremendous respect for the filmmakers, casts, and crew, and are grateful for their contributions to the film.”

The film was said to have cost over $70 million dollars to make, but Warner Bros. chose to use it as a $30 million tax write-off instead. Just as it looked as if the project would never be seen by the general public, a new update provides some hope to fans of the iconic cartoon adaptation.

In a new update by Puck News, it is being reported that Warner Bros. has been given permission to shop around the movie to other studios, with Paramount and Universal both being reportedly interested in picking up the title. Further speculation has been added by Forbes, who believes that the outrage online may have forced the studio’s hand into taking alternative action. Also noting how there is an unfortunate sense of irony that just as the strike was suspended, Warner Bros took action and made a decision that was one of the many reasons behind the strike starting in the first place.

John Cena Undergoes Treatment Following WWE Run Coming To An End

With the SAG-AFRA strike looking to be at an end, Cena has concluded his lengthy run with WWE, as he has made it clear that he is unable to act and wrestle simultaneously and Hollywood commitments take priority. Following a devastating loss to Solo Sikoa at Crown Jewel, John Cena revealed on social media that he had undergone a medical procedure on one of his arms, and would also require treatment on the other at some point soon.

In another announced John Cena project, the 16-time World Champion is set to make his talk show host debut.
