Jim Ross Explains Why He Paid Off Adam Copeland’s Debt

Jim Ross Paid Off Adam Copeland's Debt

Jim Ross shared an intriguing story about former WWE and current AEW star Adam Copeland, formerly known as Edge. The veteran commentator reminisced about the time when the WWE signed Copeland and revealed a heartwarming gesture he made on his behalf.

In a recent episode of his podcast Grilling JR, according to Ross, prior to Adam Copeland’s signing with the company, he discovered that the young talent was burdened with a substantial amount of college debt. Touched by Copeland’s dedication and potential, Ross took it upon himself to alleviate this financial burden. With the approval of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, Ross used the company’s budget to pay off Copeland’s college debt.

He had a student loan, it was significant and he had no money to pay for it because he wasn’t making any money in wrestling so what do you do if you’re JR? Well, what I do is I look at my budgets and I think what’s the right thing to do here and that would be to pay off Edge’s student loans.

Copeland, who went on to become a successful and beloved WWE Superstar, has spoken about this in the past and has expressed his gratitude towards Ross and the WWE for this act of kindness and has said that he is “forever in debt” to Ross.

What Is Adam Copeland Doing In AEW Now?
