The Wrestler Bret Hart Believes Replaced Him As The Leader Of WWE

Bret Hart revealed who he believes replaces him as the WWE locker room leader after he left following the 1997 Survivor Series.

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Bret Hart shared that he wrote The Undertaker a letter before he departed from the WWE following the Montreal Screwjob. In the letter, Hart expressed his conviction that The Undertaker should step into the role of the voice of the dressing room and the leader in his absence. Hart reflected on his own role, stating:

I always felt that I was the leader of the dressing room and looked after everything. If guys had a problem, they could come to me and I’d go to Vince and say, ‘This guy has a problem, maybe you can help him.’

He emphasised the importance of this position and the responsibility it carried. According to Hart, The Undertaker embraced this responsibility and effectively assumed the leadership role. Hart praised The Undertaker for his ability to handle challenging situations, including intervening with wrestlers like Shawn Michaels and advocating for others.

Then ’Taker stepped in and became that guy. A lot of times he had to straighten out guys like Shawn Michaels and stand up for the other wrestlers.

He described The Undertaker as a powerful presence in the dressing room, highlighting his influence and impact on the dynamics within the WWE.
