Kurt Angle has given his thoughts on Randy Orton‘s long-awaited return to WWE.

After an 18-month absence, Orton returned to the company at Survivor Series, where he helped the team of Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn defeat The Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre.

The following week, The Viper appeared on both Raw and SmackDown. On SmackDown, Orton was pursued by both Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis to sign exclusively to one of their brands. Ultimately, he chose to go to SmackDown, telling Paul Heyman to call Roman Reigns and let him know “Daddy’s back.”

Kurt Angle Praises “Superstar” Randy Orton

For one former rival, Orton’s return couldn’t come soon enough. On the latest episode of The Kurt Angle Show, the Olympic Gold Medallist explained why he thinks the star’s return is so important.

“Yes, he looks like a Superstar. Randy Orton being back in the WWE, that’s the best news I’ve heard in a couple of years. I mean, Randy is really special. He’s an unbelievably talented individual and I think WWE really needed him.

“He does look great. I’m just happy he’s back because he really struggled with that surgery. Yeah, wasn’t getting better he was really frustrated and I’m just glad that he was able to make it back.”

Looking to the future of wrestling, Kurt Angle has recently spoken of another star he believes to “it” and who will be a big star in the future.
