CM Punk Makes Surprise Appearance At NXT Deadline

CM Punk on WWE SmackDown

CM Punk has continued his tour of WWE’s brands with an appearance at NXT Deadline.

Following his shock return at Survivor Series, Punk made his first appearance on Raw in a decade and followed that up with a trip to the December 8th episode of SmackDown.

As he continues to weigh up his options on which brand to sign with, the Straight Edge Superstar has now made his way to NXT, appearing in the ring with Shawn Michaels to kick off Deadline.

Punk narrowly avoided a falling out with Michaels when he noticed the star was wearing a Bret Hart hoodie. Punk joked that HBK and The Hitman had made up, just like him and Triple H.

The star then asked Michaels for a selfie before teasing that he could choose to settle down on the developmental brand.

“The big question is that, is CM Punk going to be on SmackDown? Is CM Punk going to be on Raw? Or is the newest NXT Superstar named…[crowd chants CM Punk]”

CM Punk References AEW Departure On WWE SmackDown

CM Punk appeared on the special Tribute To The Troops edition of SmackDown and was given free reign on the microphone. As well as making his intentions of headlining WrestleMania 40 clear, Punk also took the time to take a swipe at his AEW days.

While teasing either teaming up or competing against Kevin Owens, the Second City Saint joked that the two are probably too similar before bringing up Owens punching people backstage, something “you just can’t be doing” in 2023.
