‘AEW Royalty’ was in attendance during Arsenal’s Champions League clash with French club RC Lens.
On November 29th, the Emirates saw Champions League football once again as current Premier League leaders Arsenal took on 6th placed Ligue 1 club RC Lens.
The Gunners walked out comfortable 6-0 winners with Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Ødegaard and Jorginho all netting in an emphatic attacking performance.
But the biggest shock of the night was not Arsenal dominating, that has begun to be expected of London’s biggest club, but rather who was in attendance.
Taking to social media, Arsenal would share a photo of former ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli on the touchline for the Champions League match.
Arsenal would describe Claudio as “AEW Royalty” in the post:
“In attendance tonight: Claudio Castagnoli, AEW royalty”

Claudio, who supports Swiss club FC Luzern, may have some explaining to do as since 2022 it appears he hasn’t just traded WWE for AEW but also Manchester City for Arsenal as the ‘Swiss Superman’ was photographed in a Citizen’s shirt as part of a photoshoot done by the WWE back in 2022 titled “WWE Superstars supporting their favourite Premier League teams.”
The AEW star may have had some unexpected flashbacks as Arsenal warmed up to the sound of CM Punk‘s ‘Cult of Personality’ prior to the first half. This follows a recent trend of the club walking out to WWE theme songs including recently in a touching tribute to Bray Wyatt.
None the less, as long as he keeps inspiring Arsenal to 6-0 victories in Europe, the Blackpool Combat Club member will be more than welcome back at the Emirates. Even with his Blue’s past.
The AEW star’s attendance will have been of particular interest to Arsenal’s £100,000,000 midfielder Declan Rice who is a massive wrestling fan.
