MJF To Defend AEW World Championship At Full Gear

MJF To Defend AEW World Championship At Full Gear

The first match for the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event has been officially set.

On the October 4th episode of AEW Dynamite Bullet Club Gold, consisting of Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn, made their presence felt in the ring. The trio called out none other than MJF, the reigning AEW World Champion. He agreed to face all three members of Bullet Club Gold, Robinson and both Gunn brothers then exited the ring.

However, things took an unexpected turn when Jay White, another member of Bullet Club Gold, emerged and launched a fierce attack on MJF and stole his title belt. Seizing the opportunity, White then challenged him to an AEW World Championship match at Full Gear. He argued that AEW needed a true elite champion and he was ready to step up to the challenge.

Despite the beatdown he had just endured, MJF wasted no time in accepting White’s challenge. This clash between White and MJF will not only mark White’s singles debut at a pay-per-view event for AEW, but it will also serve as MJF’s ninth defence of the AEW World Championship, a title he won back at the Full Gear pay-per-view in 2022.

MJF has since admitted that his promo on Dynamite wasn’t his finest work.

When Did MJF Last Defend The AEW World Championship?

MJF last defended his AEW World Championship on the September 20th episode of Dynamite Grand Slam when he took on Samoa Joe and won via refereeā€™s decision. The last time he defended his title at a pay-per-view event was at All In when he took on his tag team partner Adam Cole in the main event at Wembley Stadium.

Still finding time to insult people online, MJF has blasted those who have criticised The Elite.

In recent news, MJF has said that fans don’t want to cheer for “squeaky clean” babyfaces.
