Shayna Baszler has given her thoughts on the rumours regarding Ronda Rousey.
It has been reported that the former Women’s Champion will be departing WWE shortly after SummerSlam, with the final match potentially being against the long-time friend turned rival.
Speaking exclusively with Inside The Ropes, Baszler wants to make sure that if Rousey is leaving, she won’t be able to walk out of Ford Field on her own two feet. However, the former NXT Women’s Champion is confident that this won’t be the last time that we will see the Rowdy One inside a WWE ring.
I mean if I have anything to say about it on Saturday, Ronda is going to leave and she will need help getting out of there. But if I know anything about Ronda, and I know Ronda better than anyone, it’s not the last that we will see of her. Whether it’s next week or next year, it is not the last that we will see of her. We’ll see what happens.
Rousey did exit the company back in 2019 after losing to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35. After giving birth to her first child, the surprise return took place at the 2022 Royal Rumble, where Rousey would win the match and go on to WrestleMania, losing to Charlotte Flair.
Also in the same interview, Baszler would discuss the real-life elements of her competitive rivalry with Rousey, and how the goal is to give this a big fight feel.
