Trish Stratus Ends 17 Year WWE Streak

Trish Stratus

On August 20th, Trish Stratus was in action at a WWE live event for the first time in 17 years.

Until this year, besides some sporadic appearances, Stratus had been officially retired from the ring since 2006. However, she has been a regular feature of WWE for much of 2023, first returning to the ring at WrestleMania 39 where she teamed with Lita and Becky Lynch to defeat Damage CTRL.

Despite the success, Stratus turned on Lynch soon after the bout and has been in a heated feud with her ever since. This rivalry continued at the recent live event in Ottowa, Ontario, Canada, when the Hall of Famer teamed up with her ally, Zoey Stark in a handicap match against Big Time Becks.

Despite the numbers being in their favour, though, the pair couldn’t overcome The Man and it was Lynch who had her hand raised at the end of the night.

This won’t be the end of things between the two women though, as they are set to meet once again, but this time the action will take place in the confines of a Steel Cage.

While the date of the bout isn’t yet official, it is thought it will happen at Payback on September 2nd.

When did Trish Stratus last compete at a WWE live event?

The last time Trish Stratus was in action at a live event came on August 27th, 2006, when she took on Lita in Erie, Pennsylvania with the Women’s Championship on the line.

While Stratus came up short in that bout, she did finally defeat Lita for the title at Unforgiven a few weeks later in a match that proved to be her last before retiring.

Being one of the most influential wrestlers in the women’s division, Trish Stratus has credited one name that was pivotal in the success of revolutionising modern wrestling.
