AEW Star Claims Will Ospreay Is The Greatest Wrestler Alive

Will Ospreay makes his entrance as IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion at AEWxNJPW Forbidden Door 2022

At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega once again set the wrestling world on fire with their enthralling and grueling battle over the IWGP United States Championship.

The 30-minute-plus war saw the two enemies push each other to the limits in a match that exceeded the lofty expectations set by their classic outing at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 earlier this year.

The match was greatly received by fans and pundits alike. At the Forbidden Door Media Scrum, AEW President Tony Khan called it “one of the greatest” matches he has ever seen while WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff likened Ospreay to the legendary Shawn Michaels.

Now one of the Brit’s closest friends has also spoken about the impressive talent the new IWGP US Champion possesses.

Kyle Fletcher Has Called Will Ospreay The Greatest Wrestler Alive Today

In an interview with Dark Puroresu Flowsion, Ospreay’s fellow United Empire teammate Kyle Fletcher, was asked to share his thoughts on Ospreay’s match and his epic victory. The former PROGRESS, Rev-Pro, and IWGP Tag Team Champion had nothing but praise when discussing his stablemate.

I got to be there and hug Will as soon as he came back and tell him how proud of him I was. He’s the greatest wrestler alive today without a doubt in my mind and I hope I can get even close to his level one day.

Fletcher alongside his Aussie Open tag team partner, Mark Davis accompanied Ospreay to AEW in 2022 to compete in the World Trios Championship Tournament. In the first round, they defeated the Death Triangle trio of PAC, Rey Fenix, and Penta El Zero Miedo before losing to the Elite in the Semi-Finals.

After conquering the tag team divisions in NJPW and NJPW STRONG Fletcher and Davis officially became “All Elite” on May 24th.

Since signing with the promotion, Fletcher has been riding solo while Davis recovers from injury. The Aussie Arrow has competed in several matches for Ring of Honor and Rampage, where he has beaten the likes of AR Fox, Action Andretti, and Christopher Daniels.
