WWE Documentary Unexpectedly Released After Two-Year Delay

WWE Network

A WWE documentary that was originally set to release back in 2021 has finally become available to watch over two years later!

Back in April 2021, WWE released a trailer for ‘Superfan: The Story of Vladimir’, a documentary detailing the life story of superfan Vladimir Abouzeide. The film coincided with Vladimir being declared the first (and to date, only) WWE Superfan at WrestleMania 37 where he received an award from Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

The trailer featured interviews with the likes of Bruce Prichard, Jeff Jarrett, and Sam Roberts about Vladimir’s super fandom as well as pictures of Vladimir appearing on camera at countless events, being acknowledged by the likes of Kevin Nash, Roddy Piper, and Lex Luger.

The end of the trailer announced that the documentary would be available to stream later that summer but this never came to fruition. The film debuted at the 2021 Los Angeles Shorts International Film Festival but was never released to the public.

Months later, it was reported that the WWE Network/Peacock documentary had been shelved indefinitely. The reason why has never come to light and after clips of the film featured in a commercial during a September 2021 episode of Raw, the company never acknowledged its existence again… until now.

WWE Has Quietly Released Superfan: The Story Of Vladimir

Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported yesterday evening that Superfan: The Story of Vladimir had unexpectedly become available to stream on the WWE Network internationally. A few hours later, he noted that the film had also become available on Peacock in the United States.

At the time of writing, the company has not acknowledged the film’s release on either Peacock or the international WWE Network in any capacity.
