“You Can’t Control Tony Khan”: Chris Jericho Reacts To Social Media Posts

Chris Jericho is not going to stop Tony Khan.

Khan promoted the October 10th episode of Dynamite with posts that included firing shots at Triple H and Shawn Michales following reports that NXT was looking to do all they could to send a message to the competition and additional jabs fired at Vince McMahon. When the ratings came, which saw NXT achieve a resounding victory, Tony Khan posted an update that claimed a win over WWE.

Many have given their point of view on the stream of social media updates, with some simply claiming that the owner of AEW is very passionate about wrestling and his brand, while others believe that Tony Khan should stay off of social media altogether.

Speaking with The Messenger to promote his upcoming movie “Country Hearts,” Jericho was asked what he thought of the social media activity. The former World Champion stated that Khan knows the power of social media:

“I learned years ago that bosses are going to be bosses, and billionaires are going to be billionaires. I’ve been working for billionaires for 25 years At this point, you can’t control Tony Khan. He’s going to do what he wants to do and God bless him. He created this company. He runs this company. He also grew up in the social media era.”

Jericho continued, saying that these comments would be worse if he posted them as he is not the owner of the company:

“I’m not going to tell him, ‘Take your phone away,’ because he’s my boss. Say what you want. Whatever. I think it’d be worse if I said that stuff because I’m not the boss, you know? Tony Khan owns AEW. He can do what he wants. I’m not going to tell him no.”
