“Not Much Communication” Between CM Punk And Tony Khan

CM Punk entrance AEW All In

It appears there’s a long way to go before the problems between CM Punk and Jack Perry are resolved.

At AEW All In the latest controversy surrounding CM Punk played out against the backdrop of the biggest event in AEW history, and one of the biggest events in the history of the entire industry.

While the exact details of what played out vary on who is telling the story and how close they are to either side of the argument, it’s been confirmed there was a physical altercation between Punk and Jack Perry backstage at All In.

During Perry’s match with Hook, the pair fought on top of a limo and Perry said straight into the camera “real glass, cry me a river,” before taking a bump. This was a shot at Punk and recent reports of an argument between the pair, where Punk was said to have called out Perry for wanting to use real glass in a segment. It’s believed that Perry took exception with how people close to Punk portrayed him in the media.

In the days after the incident, there have been claims that at least one of the men was sent back to their hotel, that Punk threatened to quit, and both performers have
been suspended.

A new report from Fightful Select has now attempted to untangle a wild couple of days.

One source claimed “with 100 percent certainty,” that Perry didn’t throw the first punch, and instead, Punk pushed him and put him in a chokehold. Depending on who is speaking, Punk either shoved, pie-faced, or punched his rival.

One account said that Samoa Joe was acting as a maker during the skirmish, while several people note that Punk asked Perry if they had a problem, and the latter said Punk started something online after their argument weeks earlier. Perry reportedly told people he was going to say something about the incident during his match.

There hasn’t been much communication between Punk and Tony Khan since the incident, and Punk went as far as to say “I hate this place,” regarding the constant issues backstage. “Many people” within the company feel he’s largely responsible for these issues. Neither Punk nor Perry were at the All In afterparty.

The report closes by saying there’s been no confirmation regarding suspensions.

What Did Tony Khan Say About The Latest CM Punk Drama?

Speaking at the post-show press conference, Tony Khan gave little away, although he admitted there’d been an “incident” between CM Punk and Jack Perry. Aside from this, there’s been no official comment from the company or either of the men involved.

During a media call ahead of All Out, Khan revealed that he can’t comment any further on the All In altercation but will provide an update soon.
