Tony Khan is unable to comment further on the altercation that took place between CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In.
News broke during the broadcast that an incident occurred backstage and Khan confirmed this at the post-show media scrum, but would not take any questions regarding the altercation at that time.
In the following days, more and more information would come out surrounding the events that took place inside Wembley Stadium, with the latest update being that there is footage available of Punk and Perry’s confrontation.
Now that the two wrestlers have been suspended and more information regarding the matter has been gathered by Khan, can the AEW President give the public a fresh update? Unfortunately not at this time.
Speaking on the media call ahead of All Out, Khan was asked if the show will feature an appearance by CM Punk. Khan effectively provided effectively a no comment regarding the situation but has guaranteed that information will be relayed once it is known:
“We’re still continuing to investigate an incident that happened before All In, I can’t comment any further about it at this time. I appreciate you asking. If I could say more at this moment, I would. I’m still looking into some things. I promise, I’ve always done my best to be honest with the fans. In this situation, I’m doing my best to be honest about what’s happening and have been looking into this. We’ll get back to you as soon as we possibly can, I promise,”
Tony Khan Changes All Out Card
With CM Punk being one of the promotion’s biggest stars and the All Out pay-per-view being held in Punks’ hometown of Chicago, it was a given that the former World Champion would have been featured prominently on the show for a third straight year. However, due to the suspension of Punk, Khan has had to re-write parts of the pay-per-view card in less than a week, changing creative plans as he awaits the result of the investigation.
