Details Of Jack Perry's Scrapped Glass Pitch For AEW Collision Revealed

Dave Meltzer revealed details about a scrapped glass spot involving Jack Perry on AEW Collision.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer wrote that Jack Perry had planned to take a week-long vacation to Hawaii, which had been approved by AEW management. In order to write him off TV for that week, he was looking for an injury storyline.

He had planned a week off for a vacation to Hawaii which had already been approved and was just looking for a storyline explanation and to build up a future match.

The proposed spot involved Perry being put through the windshield of a car, using real glass. However, CM Punk intervened and expressed concern about the potential risk of a real injury. This sparked a heated argument between Punk and Perry, despite the spot already being approved by AEW management who had the car waiting for the angle.

Punk and Perry had an argument that night with Punk saying they didn’t need to use real glass, and the reality is with the injury rate being so high, it’s always better to do the safer alternative. However, AEW had already approved of the spot and a car was there for the angle that was to take place on the Saturday show.

The disagreement was reportedly settled after the fact. However, the animosity between Punk and Perry lingered, eventually culminating in a physical altercation at AEW All In. The altercation occurred after Perry made a remark to the camera about using real glass during his match with Hook on the pre-show.

The incident has sparked a significant amount of discussion among fans and insiders, who are divided on the matter. Some argue that Punk is justified in his actions, while others claim that he should be severely punished for what he has done.

Known for his old-school mentality, one WWE Hall of Famer has commented on CM Punk being “stuck in his ways.”

Will Jack Perry Be At AEW All Out?

Perry isn’t scheduled for a match at AEW All Out and Jack Perry is currently reported to be suspended from AEW following the incident with CM Punk at All In.

There haven’t been any details on how long the suspensions will last but there is reportedly an ongoing internal investigation into the matter.
