Ace Steel Set For Backstage Role In IMPACT Wrestling

Ace Steel cuts a promo

Less than two months after his second AEW release, Ace Steel is said to be headed to IMPACT Wrestling in a backstage capacity.

Ace Steel was let go from his backstage producer role at AEW back on September 7th, five days after the promotion terminated the contract of his close friend CM Punk due to a backstage altercation that occurred at AEW All In: London.

This marked the second time he had been released from the company. Following the post-AEW All Out 2022 backstage altercation, Ace Steel was released but was brought back this past summer due to backstage pressure from Punk.

Despite his AEW history, Steel is set to continue working in the wrestling industry for another major promotion: IMPACT Wrestling. PWInsider reported the news, noting that the 50-year-old will be working as a producer for the company this weekend.

One source is said to have told the outlet that Steel working on both Bound For Glory and the Bound For Glory Fallout tapings this weekend is being seen as a tryout. IMPACT has reportedly been interested in bringing in Steel following his first release from AEW and made the offer once again after his second.

At Bound For Glory, the promotion announced that it will be returning to its iconic TNA branding for the first time in over six years!

Ace Steel Has Worked For IMPACT Wrestling Before

Steel has worked for IMPACT Wrestling in the past as an in-ring talent, wrestling for the promotion during its days as an NWA territory back in late 2002 and early 2003.

His last TNA match took place on January 1st 2003 during a taping for TNA Xplosion. There, he and David Young defeated Chris Vaughn and Johnny Slaughter in a tag team match.

In a new interview, Ace Steel elaborated on the drama in AEW surrounding himself and CM Punk.
