IMPACT Wrestling will once again be known as TNA for the first time in over six years when the promotion rebrands early next year!

The announcement was made in the closing moments of IMPACT Bound For Glory last night, revealing that the company will revert to its iconic Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling branding that was a staple of the promotion for nearly two decades.

Their next major pay-per-view, Hard To Kill on January 13th 2024, will be the first event held under the TNA name since January 2017, aside from a One Night Only event in March 2020.

In a press release, the company hinted that there will be sweeping presentation changes to the show with the rebrand as they will “launch a new-look TNA Wrestling that runs from the entrance ramp to turnbuckles in the ring to larger, more prestigious venues and much, much more.”

The IMPACT Wrestling branding will remain for all events until the rebrand takes effect in January. This includes their upcoming tour of the United Kingdom which begins in Glasgow on October 26th, followed by IMPACT Turning Point being taped in Newcastle on the 27th as well as two subsequent live events in Coventry on the 28th and 29th.

In recent news, Will Ospreay has hinted at further TNA appearances in 2024.

Backstage Details On The TNA Rebrand Have Emerged

PWInsider and Fightful Select provided further details on the move, revealing that not all aspects of classic TNA will return. There are said to be no plans to revive the unique six-sided ring and talent at the company reportedly do not want it to return regardless.

The decision for the rebrand has been in consideration for a while and was initially set to be announced at Slammiversary back in July before being pushed back to Bound For Glory. The move is said to have been officially decided on around two to three weeks ago.

As for why the rebrand is happening, there are reportedly a few reasons: For one, the company wanted to “unite” the history of the promotion due to its various brandings over the last two decades including NWA TNA, TNA, GFW, and IMPACT.

International partners of the company are also said to have preferred the TNA branding over IMPACT and some have even still been using the TNA name internally. Fan input was also a factor as a quiet poll of long-time fans revealed that many preferred the TNA brand on top of fans at live events regularly chanting TNA.

Finally, new TNA Championship belts will reportedly be adopted by current IMPACT champions when the rebrand takes place. The TNA World Heavyweight Championship belt was temporarily revived in 2020 but was retired just a year and a half later by then-IMPACT World Champion Christian Cage.
