Rey Mysterio was attacked by one of his allies on SmackDown.

At Crown Jewel, Rey Mysterio lost the US Championship to Logan Paul after the YouTube star was able to find an opportunity to knock him out with a set of brass knuckles. On the November 10th edition of SmackDown, Mysterio looked back on the loss, claiming it shouldn’t have happened and promising that he would get a rematch for the title.

At this, Carlito made his way to the ring and questioned if there was another man involved in the loss, saying Santos Escobar had left the brass knuckles in easy reach of Paul. This led to a shouting match between Carlito and Escobar before Escobar left the ring.

Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio

The opening match of the show saw Carlito taking on Bobby Lashley. However, things soon descended into chaos as Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Tor began brawling with The Street Profits. Meanwhile, Lashley hit a huge Spear on Carlito for the victory.

As the fighting continued, Escobar returned to help out his teammates but hesitated to help Carlito when he was being beaten down. In the end, Mysterio made the save with a steel chair and berated Escobar for his inaction.

Escobar snapped and attacked Mysterio, only to receive a slap in the face from his mentor. Mysterio then tried to help Escobar up, but was thrown into the ring post. Escobar completed his betrayal by ramming steel steps into Mysterio’s leg which was trapped against the post.

Zelina Vega was able to pull Escobar away from Mysterio and he left the arena while the LWO tended to Mysterio.

Following the incident, Cathy Kelly asked Escobar about his actions and he simply said, “He had it coming” before leaving the venue.

SmackDown also saw Kevin Owens getting himself suspended, and Damage CTRL gaining two new members.
