Chris Jericho Set For Huge Match At AEW Grand Slam [SPOILER]

A huge match featuring Chris Jericho is set for AEW Grand Slam.

AEW is set to make a highly anticipated return to New York City’s Arthur Ashe Stadium on Wednesday, September 20th. The upcoming edition of AEW’s Grand Slam promises to be an electrifying event, with a match set to be officially announced on Friday night’s Rampage.

The match in question involves former tag team partners Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, who recently reunited as Le Sex Gods on Dynamite to take on Aussie Open.

However, tensions quickly escalated between the two friends when Jericho accidentally knocked Guevara off the apron during the closing moments of the match. Despite their victory, Guevara was visibly unhappy with Jericho’s actions and expressed his dissatisfaction post-match when Jericho attempted to raise his hand in celebration. This disagreement turned into a heated shoving match, prompting security to intervene and separate the two.

What Will Happen Between Chris Jericho And Sammy Guevara On The Upcoming Rampage?

The unresolved issues between Guevara and Jericho will carry over to Rampage, which was taped directly after Dynamite went off the air, as Guevara confronted Jericho at the announce table during Wednesday’s taping.

In an attempt to address their animosity and regain their focus on pursuing the AEW World Tag Team Titles, Jericho proposed a singles match between himself and Guevara at the upcoming Grand Slam event. Both competitors agreed to settle their differences in the ring on September 20th.

AEW’s Grand Slam event holds special significance as it marks the third edition of the highly successful series at Arthur Ashe Stadium. The 2021 edition of Grand Slam had previously held the record for AEW’s highest attendance until it was surpassed by the All In pay-per-view event at Wembley Stadium on August 27th, 2023. Among other matches, the event will also see Claudio Castagnoli and Eddie Kingston put their ROH World and NJPW Strong Openweight Championships on the line in a Winner Takes All bout.

In recent news, Chris Jericho has claimed that AEW is better than it was a month ago.
