Jackass Star Has Limited Memory Of WWE Appearance

Steve-O Johnny Knoxville Jackass WWE WrestleMania

Jackass star Steve-O opened up about his experience with Umaga in WWE, admitting he remembers little of the segment.

The October 16th, 2006 episode of Raw saw Jackass stars Steve-O and Chris Pontius make their way from the crowd to the squared circle, where they were confronted by Umaga. Umaga delivered a brutal beating to the stars, and Steve-O in particular took a number of stiff hits when he wasn’t selling the damage to Umaga’s liking.

Speaking about the experience in a recent interview with Tyler Treese of ComingSoon, the star talked about his 2006 WWE experience and being hit hard even after their planned spots were through. He admits he doesn’t remember much of the encounter.

“I just remember walking through what the match was going to look like. You agree to sort of an outline, like bullet points of what moves are going to be, and you walked through it. Then I remember when the show was live and it was actually happening, it was just such a wildly different experience.

“I felt like he was just hitting me so hard, and then the last move that we discussed happens, and it’s supposed to be over, but he is still hitting me. I didn’t know that he was hitting me because I wasn’t playing dead, and I didn’t know I was supposed to play dead. So, yeah, that got crazy, man. I actually don’t remember … yeah, I don’t remember leaving the ring at all.”

Vince McMahon Praised The Jackass Stars’ Appearance On WWE Raw

Continuing, Steve-O opened up about meeting Vince McMahon during his Monday Night Raw experience, admitting that he doesn’t remember the interaction as well as his co-star.

“Pontius remembers it better than I do. I seem to recall my first memory being in a control room, and according to Pontius, Vince McMahon was just super jazzed. Like, “Oh, that was great!” I know that that’s how Pontius recounts it, but I don’t trust my own memory quite as much, so I’m just taking it word for it. [Laughs].”

Years later, Steve-O’s co-star Johnny Knoxville would go on to compete in the 2022 Royal Rumble, famously being eliminated by Sami Zayn. He also went on to face Zayn at WrestleMania 38 in a highly-praised bout. In fact, Sami Zayn called his match with Knoxville the favorite of his career.
