Jeff Jarrett Teases Surprise Appearance For Upcoming AEW match

Jeff Jarrett cuts a promo on AEW Dynamite 2022

Jeff Jarret has announced that one of the most iconic characters in the history of horror movies could be making their AEW debut very soon.

As sponsored by the upcoming videogame of the same name, Jarrett will face Jeff Hardy in a Texas Chainsaw Massacre Deathmatch on August 16th. When all is said and done, Jarrett may have to re-think his Mount Rushmore of opponents following the horror movie-themed encounter.

While violence and power tools are to be expected, the upcoming violent encounter may also see fans of the film franchise spot a familiar face.

Speaking on the My World with Jeff Jarrett podcast, The Last Outlaw revealed that he didn’t ever think he would be taking part in a deathmatch, before declaring that Leatherface himself will get involved:

“He may be doing more than limp out. But no, who would have thunk? What am I, the video game sponsor deal? Me and Orange Cassidy a couple months ago had that sponsorship. It is an absolutely very cool integration. That game comes out in just a few days. But no, it’s a very cool deal. Everybody’s heard of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but coming out in a video game form. Death Match, didn’t think I had that on my bingo card, either.

I dabbled in GCW a little bit, and I’m sure [Matt] Cardona is gonna have something to say about this, but yeah, me and Nero Hardy, one on one. Rumor has it, Leatherface is gonna be involved. Did you ever see Leatherface? This is the real Leatherface, though,”

Jarrett will hope that Leatherface is on his side for the encounter, as his signature guitar would be no match for a chainsaw.

What is Jeff Jarrett’s Role In AEW?

On top of being an on-air talent, Jarrett also works behind the scenes as Director of Business Development. Helping to grow the brand by overseeing non-televised events, Jarrett would recently update fans on the future of AEW house shows.
