Andrade El Idolo Shares Cryptic Message As Rumours Of AEW Exit Intensify

Andrade El Idolo

Speculation around Andrade El Idolo continues to swirl as the star remains absent from AEW television. His exile was sparked by confrontation with Sammy Guevara ahead of the October 5th edition of Dynamite.

The incident with Guevara stemmed from comments made by Andrade in an interview where he said that the Spanish God complained about being hit too hard during a match. This led Guevara to respond on social media. After more back and forth both men were reportedly spoken to on October 4th, but when they met at the TV taping Andrade tried to punch his rival. Following the incident, Andrade’s match from the upcoming Rampage taping was also scrapped.

Andrade El Idolo Says Goodbye?

In a new post on social media Andrade El Idolo has only added to the rumours. With a series of photos with the mask he wears during his entrance, he wrote “I just want to say thank you!!! Bye Solo quiero darles las gracias!! Bye #howyouknow.

It is unclear as to whether Andrade is signalling a change of character, or a move away from AEW. Eagle-eyed fans will also notice that WWE star Zelina Vega, who was formerly his manager, commented with a series of hearts.

While there has been no official confirmation of Andrade El Idolo’s status with AEW it was recently reported that he has been suspended. In the days after the incident with Sammy Guevara it was reported that Andrade wanted to leave AEW. Not only that, his attempted fight with the star was in an effort to get fired according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

“Andrade is trying to get fired, we all know that. So far, when guys want to leave, some will go to great extremes to do that. It has happened in WWE, I have talked to people in WWE who have tried to get fired with some of the craziest things in the world. I have told them look, it’s not going to work. There were some crazy stories of people trying to do some crazy things to get fired.”

In Andrade’s absence Sammy Guevara has remained a regular feature on AEW television, most recently challenging for the ROH World Title at Full Gear.
