Rey Mysterio Makes Surprise Appearence At UFC 290

Rey Mysterio makes his WWE Crown Jewel 2018

Fight fans got a surprise at UFC 290 when Rey Mysterio appeared on their screens.

The Hall of Famer was at the event in Las Vegas in support of Mexican fighters Yair Rodriguez and Brandon Moreno, who both had title matches on the card.

Mysterio was shown in the crowd and held up a drink to the camera before cheering. Despite UFC and WWE preparing to merge under the Endeavor umbrella, the two are still very much separate companies, as was demonstrated by the chyron misspelling the star’s name as ‘Ray’ instead of ‘Rey’.

Unfortunately for Mysterio, both his picks lost their bouts, with Rodriguez falling to Alexander Volkanovski by TKO while Moreno lost to Alexandre Pantoja by split decision.

Rey Mysterio Recently Shared Unmasked Photo

While Mysterio is normally masked during all of his appearances, he made an exception for a recent photograph. The star has been riding high with his new version of the Latino World Order in recent months, with the group seeing success in the ring and forging a close bond outside it, even going so far as to get matching LWO tattoos.

Recently, Mysterio shared a picture of the group together in London, with the lucha star partially hiding his mouth, but without wearing his traditional mask.

The trip to the UK didn’t go well for the LWO, as despite their best efforts, Zelina Vega and Santos Escobar were unable to win in their respective Money In The Bank Ladder matches, so headed home empty-handed.

In a recent interview, Rey Mysterio has named his WWE Mount Rushmore.
