Matt Riddle Stretchered Out Of WWE Raw

Matt Riddle makes his entrance at WWE SummerSlam 2022

Ahead of the December 5th episode of WWE Raw, it was announced that Matt Riddle and Elias would be taking on The Usos in an attempt to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship after the two teams came face to face during a backstage segment on November 28th.

However, it was revealed at the beginning of WWE Raw that The Bloodline had attacked Elias, taking him out of action and leaving Riddle without a partner. However, The Bloodline weren’t able to gloat for long as an undeterred Riddle revealed that he had found himself another partner. He said that he may not get along with his new partner, but they share a disdain for The Bloodline.

Matt Riddle then revealed that he’d be teaming with Kevin Owens, who no doubt wants retribution against The Bloodline after the events inside WarGames at WWE Survivor Series. Owens’ longtime friend Sami Zayn not only stopped the referee from counting when Kevin Owens had Roman Reigns pinned, but also hit Owens with a devastating low blow that allowed Jey Uso to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Solo Sikoa Attacked Matt Riddle Following The Tag Team Championship Match

Despite their best effort, Kevin Owens and Matt Riddle were unable to defeat The Usos, and the longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history retained their title.

The action wasn’t over when the bell rang, however. After Kevin Owens ran The Usos and Sami Zayn out of the arena with a chair, Solo Sikoa seized the opportunity to attack, laying waste to Riddle in the middle of the ring. After the vicious attack, Matt Riddle was removed from the arena on a stretcher.

Commentary made note of the fact that The Bloodline gave similar treatment to Matt Riddle’s previous tag team partner Randy Orton, who has been out of action for months due to a back injury. Orton recently underwent surgery and there is no timetable for his return.
