AQA Officially Signs With AEW

AQA AEW

AQA has officially signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling following her debut on Wednesday’s Dynamite.

The former NXT Superstar was unveiled by Tony Khan himself as the promotion’s latest acquisition, just over two months after her non-compete clause from WWE expired.

Taking to Twitter, the AEW CEO confirmed her signing in a simple sentence, referencing her insane Shooting Star Press execution:

A Booker T-trained talent, AQA debuted on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, losing to Jade Cargill in the latest of her TBS Championship defences. The match had been announced by Tony Khan shortly before Dynamite went on-air, where he hyped AQA as “the best free agent available”. This, of course, was the first of many surprises for the evening, as Keith Lee and current New Japan star Jay White both showed up, too.

Previously, the Gilbertown, Alabama native was known as Zayda Ramier in NXT, wrestling just five matches in the former black-and-gold brand. Only one of those was a victory, as she defeated Toni Storm on the 27 April 2021 NXT episode, with Ramier’s release coming on 4 November. Given her status as an NXT talent, she had just a thirty-day non-compete clause.

With this announcement, AQA becomes the fifth signing made to AEW in 2022, following on from Jake Atlas, Brody King, Danhausen, and the aforementioned Keith Lee.
