If you’re a CM Punk fan, it may not be best to get your hopes up about seeing him return to WWE.

There’s been a lot speculation and buzz about CM Punk stepping foot back into the WWE Universe as of late, particularly with Survivor Series taking place in Chicago. However, a new report from Fightful Select dumps water on that notion.

While it wasn’t asked about at the WWE Fastlane Press Conference those at WWE reportedly wanted to make it clear that there has not been conversations about CM Punk coming back to the company. Talent within WWE also asked outright if the company was planning to bring Punk back and they were told that he wasn’t in the plans.

What About The Teases Of CM Punk On WWE Television?

Fightful Select also asked sources at WWE regarding anything substantial when it some indirect references towards CM Punk on WWE television. A top WWE talent told Fightful that these references may not have been approved of beforehand and that the teases could just be talent wanting to get under Punk’s skin.

Name talent hasn’t been shy about subtle teases in the direction of Punk. Corey Graves recently referenced one of Punk’s lines towards MJF, Seth Rollins referred to himself as the “best in the world” and this Monday on WWE Raw Shinsuke Nakamura executed a GTS on Ricochet.

This report validates Booker T’s recent comments questioning the potential of CM Punk coming back to WWE, who wondered the value of bringing the former AEW World Champion in.

It’s since been reported that WWE actually turned down the chance to re-sign CM Punk.
