Shinsuke Nakamura Hits CM Punk’s GTS On Raw

CM Punk vs. Satoshi Kojima AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Shinsuke Nakamura raised eyebrows on Raw by using CM Punk’s finishing move.

Fresh off the back of losing to Seth Rollins at Fastlane, Nakamura was a man on a mission. A mission that seemed to involve destroying Ricochet. The two men clashed more than once on Raw, but it was Nakamura who made the more definitive statement, attacking the high-flyer as he made his way to the ring to face Bronson Reed and Chad Gable.

However, it wasn’t even the attack that caught fans’ attention, it was the move the star used to make it.

After jumping the unsuspecting Ricochet, Nakamura hit him with the Go 2 Sleep — a move made popular in North America by CM Punk. While the move could have been a nod to its originator KENTA, it comes after multiple references to Punk on WWE television.

In recent weeks the likes of Rollins, Michael Cole, and Corey Graves have all appeared to reference the former AEW star.

CM Punk Still Has Heat Within WWE

The references come after heavy speculation about Punk including reports he could be returning to WWE. This included claims that CM Punk and WWE were in talks, while he was described as a “safe bet” for Survivor Series.

This was followed by a further report which stated that Punk still has significant heat within WWE, but the company believes he wants to return.
