CM Punk reportedly feels some remorse about how his comments on Adam Page came across.
The problems between CM Punk and Hangman Adam Page came back into sharp focus following the August 12th episode of Collision. During a post-show promo, Punk saw a sign for Page in the crowd and quickly commented that he was a “peg warmer” because no one wants to buy his action figures. It was later reported that Page was actually supposed to be at the taping that night to work on a pre-tape for Dynamite, but once he got there was told to go elsewhere.
Punk also took a jab at those believing they’re the “heart and soul” of AEW, a reference to recent comments made by the Young Bucks.
This is the latest flashpoint in the long-running feud between Punk and Page which began in the Spring of 2022.
Following on from the news that Page had been told to leave Collision, it was reported that Matt Hardy, Ryan Nemeth, and Head of Talent Relations, Christopher Daniels had similar problems.
It’s now been reported by Nick Hausman that Daniels and Nemeth not being backstage is due to issues with Punk. Hausman notes that Daniels’ involvement in the brawl following All Out, is why he’s not present at Collision. Punk reportedly sees parallels between the roles of Ace Steel and Daniels, and with Steel unable to attend Collision, Punk believes the same should be true of Daniels despite his role with management.
As previously reported, CM Punk’s issues with Nemeth come from the latter’s comments on social media where he called the star the “softest man alive.” The report states that Punk “isn’t looking for any backstage drama” which he felt Nemeth was trying to create.
CM Punk Open To Reconciliation With The Elite
Hausman adds that Punk’s comments about Page supposedly “did not come across how he would have liked them and that he felt bad about them afterward.” Despite yet another setback and even more drama, Punk is “keeping the door open” regarding a reconciliation with The Elite.
