Matt Hardy Doesn’t Think Jimmy Uso Should’ve Turned Heel On Jey Uso

Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy has been in his own “brother vs. brother” battle and doesn’t think a story as such suits the The Usos.

WWE swerved everybody and their brother at SummerSlam when they had Jimmy Uso backstab his twin brother Jey, costing him his opportunity at unseating Roman Reigns and becoming the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion.

Before SmackDown airs on Friday, no reason has been given for Jimmy’s return to the dark side, but Matt Hardy had his own thoughts on the matter in the latest episode of The Extreme Life podcast.

“Maybe they have some ingenious plan worked out and it’s going to turn into a story that blows us all away, but in my opinion, I would rather not see Jimmy turn on Jey in the big scheme of things. I love the fact that the Usos have been such an important part of the story. I love the fact that they had each other’s back. I love that Jey ended up making the decision to step away from Roman and go with his brother.”

Hardy also claimed that Jimmy backstabbing his brother felt very “WWE-ish” and Hardy is no stranger to such a storyline up in Stamford. Back in 2009 before Matt was ever “broken” he backstabbed his brother Jeff, costing him the very title that Jimmy cost Jey.

Matt Hardy Sees The Value In The Usos As A Team

Much like The Hardys, Jimmy and Jey Uso has set a new precedent for tag teams in WWE and Hardy doesn’t see them as “best for business” in a “Cain and Abel” situation.

“I think they’re most valuable when they’re together as opposed to feuding against each other or having a big match on a big premium live event. I would have rather seen Jimmy return to it and still have Jey’s back in some way. I don’t know where I would have taken the angle. I haven’t really thought about that. I try to sit back and enjoy it, like watching just as a spectator, as a viewer of the product.”
